Walk With Me Along Paths of Trust

Walk with Me along paths of trust. The most direct route between point A and point B on your life journey is the path of unwavering trust in Me. When your faith falters, you choose a trail that meanders and takes you well out of your way. You will get to point B eventually, but you will have lost precious time and energy. As soon as you realize you have wandered from your trust-path, look to Me and whisper, “I trust You, Jesus.” This affirmation will help you get back on track.

The farther you roam along paths of unbelief, the harder it is to remember that I am with you. Anxious thoughts branch off in all directions, taking you farther and farther from awareness of My Presence. You need to voice your trust in Me frequently. This simple act of faith will keep you walking along straight paths with Me. Trust in Me with all your heart, and I will make your paths straight.
Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.- ISAIAH 26:4
Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.- PSALM 9:10
Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.- PSALM 25:4–5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.- PROVERBS 3:5-6

Have you ever started a workout plan and kept at it for a whole month, then something comes up and you miss four days in a row? What is it like getting back into that schedule on the 5th day when you have time to workout again? It it easier to get back into the swing of things when we have a friend by our side encouraging us to join them or when we have a trainer, who we paid for, waiting for us to come back in.  However, what is it like when you are in complete control and when the decision is solely yours, whether you go back or not? How do you find that motivation to get back into it?

Now think of that same scenario, but replace it with your time with God. We travel next to God, along His path, for a long time, but then eventually, because we are all human, we wander off. Maybe it is for a month or two while we have something new in our lives, like moving to a new city, starting a new job or expanding our family. We start to lose sight of our focus because all of the new changes. How can we get back on the path when we do not have someone there pulling at us, telling us what to do?

God tells us it is simple. He knows that this is going to happen as we are on our life journeys. Because he is a forgiving God, all we have to do is ask for Him to take control of our lives again. It is not hard, just simply bow our heads and take a moment of silence to ask the Lord for His strength. So today, no matter if you think you are on the right path or you know you are not, I encourage you to bow your head right now and do just that. Tell God that you trust Him and that you need Him to direct your path in life. Before your eyes, you will be right back on the life journey He has created just for you.
