No Peace In Excessive Planning

You will not find My Peace by engaging in excessive planning: attempting to control what will happen to you in the future. That is a commonly practiced form of unbelief. When your mind spins with multiple plans, Peace may sometimes seem to be within your grasp; yet it always eludes you. Just when you think you have prepared for all possibilities, something unexpected pops up and throws things into confusion.

I did not design the human mind to figure out the future. That is beyond your capability. I crafted your mind for continual communication with Me. Bring Me all your needs, your hopes and fears. Commit everything into My care. Turn from the path of planning to the path of Peace.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.- 1 PETER 5:6–7
In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.- PROVERBS 16:9
Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.- PSALM 37:5
____________________________________________________________

Have you ever been up all night because you can not stop thinking about different circumstances that could happen at the next days event? It could even be something next week or next month, but it keeps you up because you want to run through all of the possibilities of what could happen and how you can fix it before it does.

God does not want us to worry and have unbelief in Him. Have peace knowing that not everything is in your hands, but it is all in God's. It is human nature for us to want to be in control of all things. This is not our role. God is the controller. We were not designed to be able to handle all of the needs and events outside ourselves.

So what can we do to get rid of all of these worries and give God our excessive planning needs? Write it down and pray about it. No matter what time of day or night, write down what is going through your head to get it out and onto paper. Then offer those things up to God. Pray for each and everything on your list and pray for God's guidance and leadership, that each may turn out not only to be a success, but to help further God's kingdom in some manner. Once you do this, you will feel the stress lift from your shoulders. When we offer all we have to God, He will lift us up.
